A Commitment That Grows With Every Generation

Zanvar Group began in 1982 with a single foundry and a simple conviction, that a business earns its place in a region by looking after the people who live there. Over four decades that conviction has stayed constant, even as the Group has grown into a multi-unit manufacturing enterprise based in Kolhapur.

What was once informal goodwill is today carried forward as structured programmes, employee participation and long-term partnerships with local organisations. The people change; the responsibility is handed on. Our current leadership, teams and community partners continue that work through sustained, practical involvement rather than one-off gestures.

MANAS, Kolhapur: The Partnership Behind SETU & Anubhav Kendra

MANAS, Kolhapur is the community-facilitation partner behind two of our signature programmes, SETU and Anubhav Kendra. Setu focuses on adolescents, parents and teachers through sexuality education, counselling and supportive engagement; Anubhav Kendra creates a regular learning environment for children in a community settlement, with study support, experiential learning, creative activities and employee participation.

The partnership combines Zanvar Group's CSR support and employee engagement with MANAS's programme design, facilitation, counselling and community-engagement expertise, together demonstrating a sustained commitment to learning, well-being, relationships and community participation.

Signature Programme, 01

Anubhav Kendra: A Space to Learn, Grow and Belong

Anubhav Kendra is a community-based, informal learning centre developed for children of the Wadar community settlement at Top, a marginalised neighbourhood where a quiet, dependable place to study was hard to find. The idea was straightforward: create a safe, positive space, within the community itself, where children can study, read, support one another and grow beyond the classroom.

The centre provides roughly two hours of focused evening study, reading and peer support for around forty children, reducing the pull of television and mobile phones in the evening. Weekly learning sessions, led by invited resource persons and by Zanvar employees, add school skills, arts and crafts, science and nature, geography, communication, games and gender awareness. Parents are engaged too, through sessions on health, nutrition, exercise and positive parenting.

What this means for the children

Those close to the centre report steadier study and reading habits, greater use of supplementary learning materials, peer support during study time, more interest in arts and crafts, and better school attendance as homework is finished on time. The value is not a single number, it is a neighbourhood where showing up to learn has become ordinary.

SETU: Supporting Adolescents With Knowledge and Care

SETU, Sexuality Education & Counselling Programme, is an adolescent education and counselling initiative run in partnership with MANAS, Kolhapur. It helps young people understand the physical, emotional and social changes of adolescence, and build the confidence to cope with them and make informed decisions.

The programme works with students, parents and teachers together through age-appropriate school sessions, group counselling, need-based individual counselling, audio-visual and participatory learning, and capacity building for the adults who support young people every day.

Environmental work runs through the year, an eco-friendly arrangement for Ganesh idol immersion, community tree plantation with neighbouring institutions, and the Panchaganga river-cleaning initiative carried out with active employee participation. The eco-friendly immersion has grown into a model that local self-government bodies have begun to adopt.

Support along the pilgrim routes

Through the yatra season, Group teams support pilgrims travelling the region's pilgrim routes, distributing prasad and meals, offering tulsi saplings, and running an annual free bus service for devotees, including on the Jyotiba yatra.

Our People

Everyday Participation, Shared Responsibility

None of this is the work of a department alone. Much of what happens at Anubhav Kendra, in the camps and on the riverbank is carried by Zanvar employees who give their time and skills as part of ordinary working life, a colleague teaching chess to a child, a team turning up for a blood donation camp, volunteers joining a plantation or a river-cleaning drive.

The Group also nurtures sport, culture and community spirit, from supporting marathons to its own inter-unit Zanvar Premier League, which reflects the same participation and shared pride our people bring to community work.
